• What was something from the sermon that you want to remember?

• Someone give a little of the context of the letter of 1 Thessalonians; who wrote it, what was it written in response to, what do you know about the church in Thessalonica?

• What were the three things that the Church at Thessalonica was doing?

• What is the 3-step process to being grounded in the gospel? How do you see that playing out in your life?

• How were the Thessalonians believers “imitators” of Jesus and Paul?

• Brainstorm a large list of “afflictions” that we experience? Which one are you currently experiencing?

• Why does God allow and at times ordain our afflictions? How have you learned one or more of those to be true?

• What are some ways that we waste our afflictions?

• How could and should the 2nd Coming or Return of Jesus impact our everyday lives?
