2 Thessalonians 3:6-18

Discussion Questions:

Doctrine to Doing:

Paul warns against walking “not in accord with the tradition.” What’s an example of a Christian doctrine that should shape our daily choices but often doesn’t?

Bad Company:

Proverbs 13:20 says “the companion of fools will suffer harm.” What are some ways you’ve seen the people you spend time with shape your habits, values, or spiritual health—for better or worse?

Idle vs. Imitating:

Paul says, “You yourselves know how you ought to imitate us, because we were not idle when we were with you.” Who has modeled godly diligence for you, and what stands out about their example?

Work as Worship:

How can we view our everyday work—whether at Outback, in an office, or at home—as a form of obedience and worship to God rather than just a paycheck or burden?

Boundaries in Love:

Verse 14 says to “have nothing to do with him, that he may be ashamed,” yet verse 15 says, “Do not regard him as an enemy, but warn him as a brother.” How can Christians set wise relational boundaries without becoming harsh or self-righteous?

Don’t Grow Weary:

Verse 13 says, “Do not grow weary in doing good.” What tends to make you weary in doing good, and what helps you keep going when you feel like giving up?
