What is something memorable from the passage of Scripture or sermon?
Sermon Discussion:
Which of the seven responses to God's work do you see most often in our culture?
Which one do you see most often in yourself?
The blind man simply shared what Jesus had done for him (John 9:15, 25). What's one way you've seen God at work in your life recently that you could share with someone this week?
Read John 9:22–23. Why were the man's parents afraid to publicly identify with Jesus? What pressures today tempt us to stay quiet about our faith?
The Pharisees had plenty of religious knowledge but missed what God was doing. How can we make sure our traditions or preferences don’t keep us from recognizing God's work?
Jesus sought out the man after he had been rejected (John 9:35–39). When have you experienced Jesus' presence most deeply after disappointment, rejection, or hardship?
Application
This passage ends with two opposite responses: the Pharisees reject Jesus, while the healed man believes and worships Him. What practical step can you take this week to respond to Jesus with greater trust and worship rather than self-protection?
