Book of John: Week 24

Book of John - Week 24
Dustin Schadt // Lead Pastor, Northside Church

John 8:39-47

Discussion Questions:

Jesus said the Jews had Abraham's ancestry but not Abraham's faith. What does that look like today that people cling to instead of Christ? (Family background, morality, church attendance, politics, success, etc.)

Jesus says, "If God were your Father, you would love me." What does genuine love for Jesus look like in everyday life?  What are tangible expressions of this?

In what ways can a person's response to God's Word reveal the true condition of their heart? Are you generally teachable and correctable?

Satan's primary strategy is deception, not always just obvious evil. Where do you most commonly see counterfeit versions of God's good gifts in our culture today?

When facing temptation or spiritual opposition, do you tend to rely more on your own strength or on the weapons God has given—His Spirit, His Word, and His people?

Which part of Satan's storyline in Scripture—his rebellion, strategy, mission, defeat, or destiny—most encourages or challenges you, and why?
