John 8:12-30

Discussion Questions:

Jesus says, “I am the light of the world.” In what area of your life right now do you most need the light of Jesus to bring clarity, direction, conviction, or hope?

The Pharisees knew a lot about God but did not truly know Jesus. What are some ways a person can know facts about God without actually knowing God?

Which example of “below thinking” are you most susceptible to—comfort, entertainment, accumulation, approval, distraction, or something else? How is it affecting your walk with Christ?

What would it look like for you to “lift your eyes” this week and focus more intentionally on the things above rather than the things of this world?

Jesus said, “As the Father has sent me, even so I am sending you.” Who has God placed in your life right now that may be your mission field?

If someone watched your calendar, spending, conversations, and priorities for the next month, would they conclude that you are living for the Great Consumption or the Great Commission? Why?

Application

What is one practical step you can take this week to know Jesus more deeply, keep your eyes fixed on eternal things, and live more intentionally as a sent follower of Christ?
