Thessalonians - Part 5
Discussion Questions:
1. When life is hard, have you ever felt like Jesus had forgotten you? How did you respond in that season?
2. Paul says we should “grieve with hope” (1 Thess. 4:13). What does grieving with hope look like in real life compared to grieving without Christ?
3. Why does Paul describe believers as “asleep” rather than “dead”? How does that change our view of death?
4. Our resurrection is as sure as Christ’s resurrection (v.14). How does that truth reshape your fear of death or daily worries?
5. What part of Paul’s description of Jesus’ return (vv.16–17) gives you the most encouragement? Why?
6. Sometimes we try to repress or suppress grief. What’s a healthy way you can express grief while still trusting Christ?
7. Which of these six responses to suffering (Recognize, Embrace, Share, Use, Learn, Trust) most stood out to you? Why?
8. Paul says, “Encourage one another with these words” (v.18). Who in your life needs this encouragement, and how can you give it to them this week?
