John insists that the gospel is not new but ancient, seen, heard, and touched. - What difference does it make to your faith that the apostles actually heard, saw, and touched Jesus? In what ways does this give you confidence that God’s love for you is real and not theoretical?

Where do you personally struggle to receive the love of God?

John says that God is light—and that claiming fellowship with Him while “walking in darkness” is a lie. - What does it practically look like to “walk in darkness” versus to “walk in the light”? Which direction does your life tend to drift when you are not intentional?
